Thanks to an invitation from our friend Johnny Jet during TBEX in Toronto this June, we had the opportunity to check out the Trump Hotel Toronto for a weekend getaway. I could tell you all about Toronto, but during our stay at the Trump, we barely left the property. Hey, if you had the chance to stay at the hottest hotel in Toronto, would you leave?

Located right in the heart of the financial district and walking distance to everything, it’s a perfect location to base yourself for your own Toronto getaway. And here’s why.
8 Great Things About the Trump Hotel Toronto
1. No Sign of Donald Trump

We never watched The Apprentice, we don’t like it. We don’t like Donald either. He’s abrasive, rude, heck he’s downright crazy. Remember his vendetta against President Obama and all his crazy tweets? So, it was a pleasant surprise to see that there is no sign of Donald Trump at this hotel. We were expecting everything to be decorated in gold and to be styled over the top, but is actually sleek and modern with an upscale urban feel.
Our corner suite was a place that could easily be a comfortable apartment and I can understand why. The Trump Toronto actually sells hotel rooms for people who frequent Toronto for business to use at their disposal. When they are not using the room, Trump Toronto puts their things in storage and rents the room out to visitors to the city.
2. Chocolate
The Gold Trump Bar is our Favourite
The Trump Hotel has a chocolate lab! It is a chocolate lover’s dream and even if you don’t get around to ordering any chocolate, don’t worry, you’ll have the chance to sample tasty treats each night at turn down service. We collected our chocolates each night and took them home with us! My favourite touch was the Trump Gold Bars. How fitting.
3. TV in Bathroom Mirror

Not only was our bathroom beautiful - Our room was a spacious 1 bedroom, two bath suite with a separate sitting area complete with bar, fireplace and three TVs, but we had a TV in the mirror of our bathroom! We had a total of 3 TV’s in our room allowing us to watch whatever we liked from anywhere we chose. If there is a TV in the Bathroom mirror at the Trump Hotel, I am assuming that everyone who has money has a bathroom mirror TV. It must be the latest rich and famous trend right? I can picture every movie star and Wall Street tycoon sitting on their toilet watching the latest talk show. (It kind of makes them seem more human doesn’t it?) Yep, if I were rich, I’d have a TV in my mirror to go along with my heated bathroom floors, which the Trump Toronto also has!
4. The Staff
General Manager Mickael Damelincourt is friendly and down to earth
Everyone from the General Manager, to the doorman to the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. I remember hosting a Twitter chat with Johnny Jet and funny enough, the Trump Hotel. (honestly, it was a coincidence) and one of the questions asked was “What sets a five star luxury stay apart from four?” and our answer was “At the end of a stay at a 5 star hotel, you feel like friends” That’s how we feel about the staff at the Trump TO. We can honestly say that we’d love to hang out with Mickael and Erica (GM And Social Media Co-ordinator) outside of work anytime. They are fun and interesting people!
5. Stock Restaurant
Stock is great for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner
We had the pleasure of eating at the Stock Restaurant not once but twice. Dinner and breakfast. The Stock Restaurant is the hottest spot in Toronto and all the movers and shakers go there. Hence the reason Dave and I were there. But seriously, dining at Stock is an experience you won’t forget. From the private dining loft to the open air sky patio to the regular dining room with the oh so high ceilings, white walls and black trimmings, you’ll be eating in pure decadence and comfort. The good news is that we just found their Summer Dining menu and a person can dine for $39.
6. Quartz Crystal Spa

We could have spent all day at the Quartz Crystal Spa - and we did! We started our day at the gym and then got down to pampering. Nice! Our bamboo massage was heavenly. With all the traveling and hunching over a computer that we do, the deep tissue massage did just the trick. Plus, they have tasty treats, (including chocolate) fruit infused water and soothing teas to keep you occupied. After our massage, we took advantage of a quick dip in the lap pool, chilling out in the hot tub and the magnificent view. We felt relaxed and peaceful, just the way we should be.
7. Free Internet
We hate it when expensive hotels charge for Internet. We’ve always said, “Why don’t they just roll the cost into the price of the room?” Well, the Trump Toronto offers free Internet for everyone. Sure the people who stay there could afford to pay for the Internet, but that doesn’t offer great service. Even the rich care about the little things and free Internet is a must for all business people and holiday goers alike.
8. Reasonable Movie Rates
We travel a lot and when you are on the road constantly, you don’t always want to go out on the town each and every night. Especially when you have a room as amazing as ours at the Trump Hotel. We decided to rent a movie (Warm Bodies: A Very fun zombie movie if you like zombie movies) It only cost us $12, less than a movie out.
The Trump Hotel Toronto has everything you need for 5 Star luxury. Soft and fluffy robes, pillows made to order from the pillow menu, inviting duvet, welcome notes, personalized messages and all the special touches that you would expect from a hotel of this caliber.
